I have worked in the soft furnishings industry for over 39 years, with nearly 30 of those years dedicated to the Wattrus Group.

As the Company Secretary, I wear many hats—coordinating and supporting the board of directors, leading shareholder engagement, and advising company leadership on corporate governance matters, including HSEQ. I also oversee all Human Resources and Employment Law activities within the business.

My background is rooted in craftsmanship, holding a City and Guilds in Furnishings and Furniture Manufacturing with Distinction from Darlington College of Technology, and I later completed my ILM Level 3 in First Line Management.

Originally from North Yorkshire, I have been married 25 years and I’m a proud Dad to two children currently studying at University.

Outside of work, I love spending time in the great outdoors—walking, running, or cycling—though I’ll admit I’m more of a fair-weather cyclist these days.

My favourite destinations to holiday are Austria, in the summer where you can walk high up in the mountains or spending time in the Yorkshire Dales, my home county or coastal walking in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

I enjoy anything to do with History and Architecture so love a visit to a National Trust property or a trip down to London.
